Role of Technology  in Education
Technology has been around forever ..... Technology in education is not new .... Film strips, television,

Why is it different now? We know what good learning looks like - relevant, engaging, personalised .... Technology is at the point where we can individualise learning.

Generation Z is global, social, visual and technological.  Brains are not wired differently. How they think about learning is different to how we thought about learning.  They learn by going out and learning, we waited to take a class, waited for someone to teach us. This generation is the first digital generation. What is this generation facing?

We are able to visit places we never dreamt possible - virtual reality, merging the real and virtual worlds.

Problem Solving 51%.    Don't ask kids what do they want to do? More important is What problem do you want to solve?   What do you need to know to solve the problem ?
Feedback - constant iteration and innovation to get the feedback loop.  Schools are set up as a single player game. Collaboration is critical. Leadership - can you influence, build consensus, step back and let others lead. Need to learn in schools strong digital leadership in the students.

Converting information into intelligence.  How to bring education to the next level.  We do need to memorise i.e alphabet but at what point does education become a commodity and of no value ..... How do we ask questions that we can't look up on google?

What kids need most is a great teacher in the classroom who can bring education to the next level. Transformation has no end point.  Future classroom starts on Monday - it's what you do in your classroom.  We are at the very beginning of education.  Only 40% of the world is online.
